While doing the
laundry and contemplating the notes I needed to make on the effects of weather
in history, reported by postmodern historians, I had met a Vietnamese woman
newly imported for wage slavery, doing more than her share of the laundry and
having few words of English. I thought to myself how difficult it is going to
be to explain to her with sign language, the importance of minus zero
population growth and the use of herbal birth control and the displacement of
population theories of Condorcette and Helvetius by the Malthusian economics of Ricardo’s
invention of “rents” and how not unlike the contemporary, the human
overpopulation of pre history may have altered the currents of the ocean at the
time of Atlantis, by defoliating Australia and the Sahara. Nevertheless I endeavored to communicate,
thinking this will give me the opportunity to experience what it is like to
explore the unknown cultures of antiquity based on the oral traditions that no
one knows, keeping in mind that the cave drawings in the high-tech world of
Atlantis were more sophisticated than the so called post modern drivel posing
as Post Modern Art / History. As I suspect that the Bards of old probably did
not memorize Shakespearean verse structures, but probably had divergent and
nuanced four dimensional taxonomies beyond the scope of comprehension of the
hermeneutics of our linear media cloned scholars. And so after preparing myself
for the consequences of using outside references, of thinking "out of the
box" while staying in it, I was going to quote from Innis
and Ellul on the use of "facts" to
construct histories in propaganda, even though these neo facts from someone's
idea of antiquity are of dubious verity and I also consider the need for
rereading and rewriting as having been, we are told, responsible for creating
the completely unintelligible writings of Joyce's Dada inspired cabal, who's
grammar has never been questioned because it is holy; I decided to question our
Vietnamese worker on the implications of the weather in her version of
contemporary news. So after a few
minutes of rudimentary lessons in English as a second language, by pointing to
the various colors in my laundry and saying the words orange, wrapping the
towel around my waist and sitting like the Buddha in a Lotus position on the
floor, I was able to establish that she was a Christian not a Buddhist. This
confirmed my theory that knowing a persons religion is more important than
knowing their language and that the Imperial religionists seem to be able to
teach, where Family Planning and UNESCO dare not go. And so we managed to get around to the
question of the weather. She said,
"Cold in
